plain to see: pins and needles

Tim Burton's, The Pincushion Queen
i wasn't sure that day, when you said
you'd take it all the way home,
back to the Dakotas.

i scrambled to put it back,
make it out to be something
simple and study-learned,
but it wasn't so easy
as vanilla.

and i thought it was just my way,
that it was in the way i brought
my sugar to the table, and
it's more than i can comprehend at this bend.

listen real good, boy
I
asked for a little more
and a little more
and i put it back
[i put it back]
-liked you better framed in that light.

and i've got it nice - where i want it
and you
you
can't put it back like i can,
and you liked me better, back when,
framed in that light.

i saw your sunshine.
and it fades away,
it's gone away.
